Moon Sign Calculator
Your Moon sign is the sign the Moon occupied at the exact moment of your birth. It describes your emotional nature — what you need to feel secure, how you process feelings, and the self you are when nobody is watching. The Moon changes sign every two to three days, which is why two people with the same Sun sign can feel like entirely different people.
Why the birth time helps
The Moon travels roughly 13 degrees per day — about half a degree an hour. Most of the time, the sign is the same all day and a date alone is enough. But if you were born on a day the Moon changed signs, the hour decides it. Enter your birth time if you know it; if not, we calculate for noon and the result is still correct on the large majority of birthdays.
How we calculate it
LunaSign converts your local birth moment to UTC using the offset you select, then computes the Moon's geocentric ecliptic longitude with the astronomy-engine ephemeris — the same class of mathematics used by planetarium software — and maps it to the tropical zodiac. The method is verified against published reference charts; no date-range tables, no guessing.
